Imagine if you were one of those kids whose parent was a teacher in your own school. You’d have to face many things, some good and well, some not so good. While this had disadvantages like one being your friends would always be afraid that you’d ‘leak out information’ to your mother or other teachers, it had certain perks as well. So this is for those kids who had to face all these things, I’m sure you’d relate to this!
1. EVERY TEACHER KNOWS YOU
You’re walking in the corridors of your school with your friends and every teacher that passes by gives you a huge smile and you’re obliged to reciprocate. It’s like your mother has befriended every teacher in the whole school and somehow, all of them just seem to know you!
2. YOUR CLASS TEACHER HAS HIGH EXPECTATIONS
Of course, now that your mother decides to be a teacher in the same school as you’re studying in, every class teacher that you’ve had, and every teacher that teaches you expects you to get an A grade all throughout the year because B would obviously seem like an E 🙂
3. BUT, AT THE SAME TIME, EVERY TEACHER DOTES ON YOU
Every time you’d walk into the staffroom, all the teachers would greet you with a lot of love, teachers would sometimes be bias with you, but only sometimes. C’mon, you’re bound to feel a bit special if you’re receiving so much love from everywhere.
4. YOU CANNOT MISS SCHOOL AT ALL
You cannot afford to miss school at all because no excuse would work with your mother. Unless you’ve got chicken pox or typhoid maybe? Your mother would drag you to school no matter how much you’d want to just give it a miss one day.
5. YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS GET TIRED OF THE SPOTLIGHT AT TIMES
Every time your friends would do something, like laugh a bit loud in class, the teacher would give you a glare, even if it isn’t you doing anything. It seems like a crime even if you end up just talking with your friends during a lecture.
6. YOUR FRIENDS THINK YOU HAVE SECRET CONNECTIONS
You get a 10/10 in your history test and your friends suddenly start doubting you. Yes ofcourse, the teacher came and handed over the question paper to me the previous day! Thanks to my friends for their faith in my intelligence, all the time.
7. YOU TRIED TO AVOID YOUR MOTHER ALL THE TIME IN SCHOOL
During the break, if you’re with your friends then you try avoiding your mother at all costs. You wouldn’t want to bump into her because that would mean awkward smiles, awkward talking and a lot more.
8. YOU KNOW ALL THE GOSSSSSSSIP
Yes, one of the good things, you knew most of the gossip going around in school like something new coming up in school, or all the inner teacher gossip. You’d get to know most of the things before anyone else and it was really difficult for you to keep it all in your stomach
9. YOU’D GET TO ATTEND ALL THE TEACHER PARTIES
All the christmas parties, or any teacher things that would take place in school, your parents would always take you along for it, what could be better than that? You would get to interact with the principal on a one to one basis and then you’d be gleaming all day!
10. YOU WERE NEVER BULLIED BY YOUR SENIORS
You were always treated with respect from your seniors because everybody knew you as ‘OHH IT’S MRS(INSERT NAME) DAUGHTER,CANNOT MESS WITH HER’. They’d know that they would get into serious trouble if they would do anything to you.
So if you’re one of these kids, do you relate to these points?
