The mystery of chasing side to come victorious in the IPL format continues as today Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) clinched their victorious feat on a thrilling note against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). RCB although survived quite a few nervous moments during the chase of 155, but they successfully managed to handle the pressure and got over the line in the final over.
During the match, Bangalore game changers Umesh Yadav and AB de Villiers translated Kings XI Punjab’s worst nightmare into chilling reality on Friday the 13th at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
In front of thousands of raucous audience of red and black, RCB bounced back very nervily from their opening-game loss to Kolkata Knight Riders, just about shading the big moments to complete a four-wicket victory for their first points of the Indian Premier League 2018.
Umesh Yadav and his pace, both in the air and off the pitch, that made the much required difference in the match. His first over wasn’t an indicator but boy did he hit his straps in the second. Firing it consistently at over 140 kph, Yadav had Mayank Agarwal caught behind sharply by Quinton de Kock before beating Aaron Finch (coming in for David Miller) and Yuvraj Singh for sheer pace. While KL Rahul had ensured another quick start for KXIP, these three wickets put the innings in a mess, that they couldn’t quite recover from fully.
