The god of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, Friday, was all his mouthful of the fact on Afghanistan tweaker Rashid Khan, considering him as the best spinner in the Twenty20 format.
The 19-year-old had a magnificent record in this season of IPL. He has not only grabbed 20 wickets in 16 matches, including a three for 19 against Kolkata Knight Riders in the second IPL qualifier at Kolkata on Friday but also hammered a 10-ball 34 in the final overs to help Sunrisers Hyderabad post 174-7 at the Eden Gardens which somehow turned out to be the deciding knock of the match.
Tendulkar in his standpoint on this Afghanistan boy said- “Always felt @rashidkhan_19 was a good spinner but now I wouldn’t hesitate in saying he is the best spinner in the world in this format. Mind you, he’s got some batting skills as well. Great guy.”
The magical show of Rashid;
With SRH struggling in the death overs and rummaging all over for the quick runs, Rashid came to the middle and brought forth a magnificent knock from his mysterious sword like a bat with four sixes. And that was the knock which propelled the total of SRH which was 134/6 when he arrived in the middle in the 18th over and to the massive 174/7 which was indeed a big one to chase down especially against the bowling side like SRH.
Rashid simply made the spectators feel the live wire on the field, taking three wickets, three catches and was involved in affecting a run out as well. I guess he has played in every department today and that was where SRH outplayed the in-form KKR side that too at their home turf, Eden Gardens. Rashid started his blow with the ball with the crucial wicket of Robin Uthappa (2), then trapped a set Chris Lynn (48) LBW and had the dangerous Andre Russell caught at first slip. All in all, he ensured this match to be his dream match which helped his team enter the final of the Indian Premier League.
