Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has joined the Australian coaching staff for the side’s five one-day internationals and one Twenty20 international game against England in June. This is the biggest achievements for the Australians as they will get the guidance of a legend like a figure. He was the one under whom Australian cricket did witness three-time world championship. There were times when Australian team was supposed to be the most difficult side to deal with. And all of this achievements had been possible for only this man in leadership responsibility. His leadership skills are pretty much well known to all. Hence that would be interesting to see how he manages to handle the downfall of Australian cricket and get them reach the lost position once upon a time they were used to rule over.
Ponting joins former teammate Justin Langer, who was appointed coach of the team on a four-year term after Darren Lehmann resigned in the wake of a ball-tampering scandal in March.
“Ricky is one of the greats of the game, and since he was already in England doing some commentary we saw it as a great opportunity to have him join our team for this important series,” Langer said in a statement.
